Hair Products! What to buy and what not to buy...

To buy or not to buy... That is the question! I'm a firm believer that you don't buy your hair products where you pick up milk and eggs. Where do you even start?

Although buying hair products can be a scary and confusing thing. First step in buying quality hair products is to go to your local salon. Even if you don't get your hair done at that particular salon. Ask questions! A good hairdresser will explain to you what he/she is using and why they are using that product in your hair. Every hairdresser has their opinions, but in eleven years I've definitely found my favorites!

Now some are more expensive than others, but there is one big difference between drug store products and professional products. Drug store products use fillers because it's cheap, so you end up using more product to see results, which means you go through product faster. This leads to build up on your hair making it appear dull, dry, and lifeless. Professional products use healthy ingredients so you not only use less, but it helps restore your hair because it has ingredients your hair needs. Leaving your hair shiny and healthy while protecting and nourishing. You may spend more money now but it will last you longer and your hair will actually look healthy. *note: when you see "professional" products at the drug store, know that they are either fake, expired, or tampered with. True professional hair product companies will not sell to drug stores. Period.

$45.00 For A Haircut??!!

Think of all the luxury's in life that you have no problem spending money on.... steak dinner, vacations, pedicure, spa treatments... Now, you can't stomach spending $45.00 on your haircut which you have to look at every day? I've had so many people say to me, "That just seems like a lot of money for a haircut!" Have you ever actually loved your hair? It is possible, but you're not going to get a quality hair cut or style that costs $12.99 or $9.99 with a coupon. Sorry.

There are few things that I have found worth spending extra money on: Clothes, shoes, makeup, facial creams, hair products, and HAIR SERVICES.

Point is, there are some things in life that you can't go cheap on, and a haircut or salon service is one of them. Fact: How your hair styles is directly related to how it is cut. Crazy right? Yes, using product can help style your hair a certain way, but your overall style is how the hair is cut. And when your hair looks awesome you feel awesome! It is an investment in yourself. Aren't you worth it? Here's a tip: Notice the women who's hair you admire and ask them who they see or where they go. It's always better to be recommended than to walk in blindly to a new salon.
